How a phony police report can be used against you in court in an unrelated matter.
Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney Katharine Molina pulls out a police report that had been filed by John Barnett Slaughter, which is full of lies, hearsay, and vague accusations, without any evidence, and uses it as justification to toss me into jail with a bail of $250,000, despite the fact that I never hurt so much as a fly and demonstrated more restraint than most folks would after being attacked by a masked mob and pursued up the street. Prosecutor Kate Lenzser lies to Judge Leslie Bottomly about me.
Of course these allegations are untrue. In fact, I wasn't even informed that this report even existed until she ambushed me with it. I was never asked to give my version of the events in question and never told I was listed as a suspect on anything.
I am a news videographer and reporter. I do not go around threatening or harassing people. I don't care who John Slaughter is, I don't care where he lives, I don't care what he does in his personal life. In fact, it was Mr. Slaughter, along with Micah Fletcher, Taryn Yum, Penny Okamoto, and others, who were harassing me at the memorial for the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting. On the evening in which John Slaughter claims I drove by his house with my hand in the shape of a gun pointing toward him, I was at home tending to two cats who needed medical attention.
The fact that a prosecutor can get away with lying to a judge by using a false police report with no trial, no jury, and no formal proceedings is a very frightening revelation.
