He has now turned all of his time, focus and energy towards mixing and producing in various styles and genres of dance music. Katchmo has always been captivated by the underground sound that is totally fresh, raw and commercially untouched. You can clearly hear this within his mixes and productions, with inspiration from dj's like Sasha, john digweed, sander-kleinenberg and techno gurus adam beyer, dave clarke and carl cox, he will be found compiling his sets with rolling beats and flowing sounds. He bought his first set of turntables at age 20 and has never looked back, playing at various clubs and nights such as Subtone, Dakota, thirteen, Blush, Qbars, Coco Lush and Bar Viva Ibiza. Playing for nights under the names of Audio Hussy, Hustle Up, Subtone showcase, Bloom and Rokit. He has played alongside the likes of Utah Saints, TheWideboys, Solano, Siytek, NGE, Senz, Cool Cut C, Adjected Deleted, Kid Afro, Rezonate and Robinson just to name a few.

To celebrate the opening of The BBC Music website, we are proud to present our first mix of five exclusive songs. The mix is also joined to Volltures EP How to stop a heart and Deaf Professors album Hold the title, both on exclusivity! A lot of premiere today with a brand new layout for the music videos, a brand new website, our first EP and album the same day!

Vose, this electronic producer hailing from Wolverhampton - England is now back for an exclusive release on The BBC Music records with The unsung war!
Vose is the artist pseudo of Michael Kumar, a 17 years old artist that has been in the field for about a year now. He mostly works with software like Propellerheads Reason 5, Cubase 5 and has a beautiful B.C Rich Zombie Exotic Classic 5 string bass guitar that he proudly uses.
Since he was young, Michael always had music as a big part of his life, listening to everything, regardless to genre.
Music helped him through tough times and Im sure a lot of you folks will recognize themselves when Vose says that it tooks his mind off the harshness of this world.
The popular song Adagio for Strings (probably from Tiësto) was the first stunning piece of music Vose ever heard and has been a massive influence in his music today. Nevertheless, when making a track, he doesnt think about other artists or what they do in their tracks. Michael doesnt build his songs thinking stuff like : A Skrillex wobble would be amazing here. Just using his own ideas and thoughts, Vose create music that you can associate to him.
Moreover, as Michael is interested in every kind of music, his productions reflect that fact. Never bounding himself to a particular genre. If Vose like an idea he has that he can build on and it happens to fit a certain specification of a genre, then It will be that genre, not the inverse. However, he makes mostly Dubstep, but think of it like a Unique sound. Vose will make Drum and Bass and House from time to time, but will also make anything else such as Dirty Electro, Drumstep and Hip-Hop if he feels like it. I will let you on some of his words :
Boundless is a good word for my thoughts on music.
I follow my own thoughts, without thinking about what the masses want.
I make tracks In a chillout style, purely because thats the only way my mind works.
My track My Mind sums up my style and thoughts on current Dubstep!
Most of all, I make music to make me happy. For others to listen to it and think thats a quality track only makes me happier, and I am thankful to every listener.
If people wonder how I chose the name Vose, one of my good friends couldnt say those properly :)
He asked me what make are those headphones? but it came out as what make are Vose Headphones
Silly background story, but it stuck with me!

Then the violins and snares attempt to lift you up until something wrong seems to happen, and then... the whole orchestral-electronic beat takes your brain to drop city and your neck will bump-your-head-to-this without even you noticing it.
Capitan Mans largest inspiration that got his Dubstep career started was no one else but Skrillex. He is an artist out of Canada, Ontario, and has only been producing Dubstep music since five little months! The Capitan Man has grown real fast and keeps raising his songs to another level, manipulating sound with more ease day after day. His expectation are nothing less but to be living off his dream : producing music for people entertainment. Im convinced hell be able to make that dream come true with his amazing skills. The Capitan Man will be coming out with an album with 7 songs probably this summer so you might want to stalk him a little ;)

My music is my life! I love writing songs, I have been into music since I was young. Ive used many programs as Ive gotten older and now Im taking it for real! What inspires me is feedback from others, comments, likes on YouTube, views and promotions! Also, listening to the professionals, gives good ideas and I pick up production methods really quickly! I have no idea how I see myself in the near future, my lifetime goal is to become big, lots of fans, and a chance to perform my tracks live to a crowd in a club or something! A fresh new song uploaded today on The BBC Music! Im proud to present you a deep and emotional track from GregCookeMusic featuring Lurkah as a singer. This piece named Snowflakes turned out to bear that cozy warmth feeling as the song is talking about a girl. The piano and pad work nice with each other, creating the perfect vibe to fulfill our need of uplifting music. Also notice that the drums are chopped and layered to give the song some punch, adding to the many different hi-hats used in.
GregCookeMusic is the artist alias of... Greg Cooke! Hes a 20 years old producer who comes from Coventry, in England. This talented guy has only be making Drum and Bass for about a year now and already released some amazing tracks.
At the moment, FL Studio 8 XXL is the principal mean GregCookeMusic uses to make his music. He also uses other various softwares, but FL Studio is definitely the most used one.
In general, Greg LOVES music, especially chilled stuff he can relax to. He doesnt bound his productions to a particular genre, while staying in the electronic world. He studied music production for 3 years at college and really got into it. Seeing producers and Djs live just make him feel he wants to be there one day!
GregCookeMusic uses unique piano leads for his DnB work. Adding random old samples and playing around with them, Greg tries to create sounds of his own. He then works them out so they fit in the background of his tracks to make them a little bit different and unique.
There should be another release with Lurkah who was singing in this track so you might want to stalk that great artist! Probably another release in September also.

Finally got some time to write a nice description! So yesterday I uploaded this great uplifting track from Freemind. In Not free anymore the mix between dubstep wobbles and electro synths just perfectly goes along together. Actually theres something funny about this song that has nothing to do with music, Not free anymore is in fact... free to download!
As most of the artists on the channel, youve probably never heard of Freemind. From his real name Jaanus, Freemind is an electronic producer whos based in Tartu, a small city in Estonia. At 22 years old, Freemind is in the field of music production since mid 2005, totaling 6 years of experience. His favourite audio sequencer to produce his songs is the popular FL studio. Freemind also have a synthesizer where he sometime creates his melodies before running back to his computer!
He also went to a music school and play on his drum from time to time. Freemind mostly listen to drum and bass but lately the dubstep phenomenon affected his habits.
The first event that got him into this field was his friend who started to make music. He was hooked as soon as the idea fluttered in his head. With an ever growing love to produce music, Freemind makes all his songs by himself, improvising on the drum, melodies and so on. And thats where his inspiration came from for his name : Freemind let his mind free to dictate how the beat shall go.

Hey everyone!
Today on The BBC Music, Im proud to feature the song Rogue Status by Joncarr. When I first listened to this track at 2 in the morning, the epic intro put me in a really weird trance feeling, like if my whole body was numbed by the ingenious mix between back vocals and violins. The intro is serious, got me hooked within seconds. When that hushed snare began to play around as an announcement of a great event, I knew something big was to expect, that the awesomeness of the intro was just the tip of the iceberg. Thats when the deep bassline kicks in, added to an insane drum riff and to the almost sacrilegious vocals ambiance. You think that was the heavy part of the track? Get yourself stitched... every following seconds of the song are just pure mind blowing stuff!
Joncarr is the alias of electronic producer Jonathan Carr. Coming from Anchorage in the United States, this guy is probably the most underrated drum and bass producer Ive stumbled upon. With his first releases about a year ago, Joncarr has proven his abilities to play with sounds and explore frequencies. Constantly raising the level of his productions, this amazing artist has its own style, twisting melodic synths and ambient vocals to create amazing and unique soundscape within the world of drum and bass.
Beginning the music expedition in 1994 playing bass guitar in a hard edged punk band, California native Jon Carr has been attached to a music scene since. Typically listening to independent punk bands and edgier metal type music through the majority of his teen years, it seemed unlikely he would find his way into an electronic genre. Following the break up of the band in 1997 and dry spell in any type of music creation, it seemed as if it was the means to an end.
It wasnt until 1999 when Jon found himself inside a rave in Austin, TX that he was immediately drawn into the electronic music scene. Walking the footsteps of his previous teen years, Jon Carr was not only content with listening to the music, he wanted to create as well. This creation method was originally made possible by a piece of software called Dance eJay which was owned by a friend. This obviously was not going to be enough; simply sequencing pre-made loops was in no ways quenching the creative mind of Jon Carr.
Serious music production had commenced once Jon got his hands on Propellerheads Reason software in 2001. Jon started producing trance under the alias of J3C which eventually found its way into the more suiting, aggressive sounds of Drum and Bass. Drum and Bass is an obvious match for Jons edgy personality and this personality seamlessly weasels its way into the sounds of Joncarr.

The BBC Music is proud to present you today a remix of Modesteps popular song Sunlight by Calvertron and Helicopter Showdown! Expect more filth in this one. While this piece of work keeps the chilled vibe of the original song, the bit sounds and the glitchy synths lay on a deep bassline to add to the melody that I would classify as a banger.
Modesteps song Sunlight has received quite a lot of edifying critics and for cause. Behind this name hide brothers Tony and Josh Fiend who have individually been DJing since 2001, only forming the band in 2010 with Joshs roommate Matthew Curtis and more recently guitarist Nick Tsang. Basically theyre two guitarists, one drummer and one vocalist alongside the inevitable dub work. This combination of hard rock and electro definitely helped in their acclamation from the public.
Calvertron, for his part, started learning to produce with Cubase on an old Atari ST computer in the late 90′s. There were no softsynths back then, you had to buy thousands of pounds/dollars worth of keyboards, outboard fx units, samplers a mixing desk etc. to be able to make a track. It took him a long time to get all the gear together. These days all you need is PC and some monitors speakers and your away, which is great and makes it much easier for less privileged peeps to have their talent heard! He also used to play guitar in a thrash metal band until the Prodigy Steered his interest towards synthesizers and sampling. Calvertron then got into drum n bass in a big way, he used to buy records from labels like Trouble on Vinyl, Renegade Hardware, Metalheadz, V Recordings and Ram etc. These days some of Calvertron favourite producers and a big influence on his production would be Noisia, Datsik, Downlink, Doctor P, High Rankin, Figure to name a few.
Helicopter Showdown is heavy and melodic Dubstep from San Francisco, California. Rinsed heavily by Rusko, Reid Speed, Sluggo, Calvertron, PantyRaid and more, their Debut EP The Wrestler on Ultragore records made home to Beatports Dubstep Top 100 Chart with the title single in the Top 10 for 3 weeks.
The next releases Hostages also on Ultragore records (collab with SLUGGO) and their freely available Dramatron, Beat Down (Squitty Bubbler), along with the classic Whistle Tips (Dubsaw) (collab with Point.blank) have each received similar fanfare and critical acclaim, and have helped them earn the incredible support of the powerful Dubstep blogosphere.
