It’s been 40 years since Kaimuki’s iconic Queen Theater was shut down in a police porn raid.
Since then, not much has changed. And the call from the community to give new life to this valuable corner lot off Waialae Avenue has grown louder and louder.
The City Council tried to condemn the property a few years ago, but put the effort on pause to give the owner’s daughter time to renovate the property.
But still, nothing’s changed. Now the City Council is looking to step in again.
