Juvenile starlings are a solid gray-brown color with relatively few markings or distinguishing features. A straight stout bill which is dark gray-black color. A slightly paler throat may be visible with faint dark malar stripes.

The young begin to fly at 18 to 21 days of ages

As Juveniles they can be seen chasing after the parent bird on the ground, following at its heels whilst foraging.
