The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs is under fire over failure to account for government funds and a ballooning burden of court awards against government.
During an interface with Parliament's Public Accounts Committee, the Ministry failed to account for 1.06 billion shillings, as MPs warned that lawsuits have become a new frontier for corruption, with government contingent liabilities hitting 77 trillion shillings a figure that is almost the size of the entire national budget.
