Parliament is set to pay tribute to the late King of Tooro, Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV, who passed away on August 27, 2026.
The King is being remembered for his significant contribution to youth empowerment, environmental conservation, and the promotion of tourism in Uganda and beyond.
Speaking during today’s plenary sitting, Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oboth Oboth described the King’s death as a loss not only to Uganda, but to the world at large.
The Speaker said Parliament will honor the late Omukama for his contribution to the country and his people.
Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV died at the age of 34 in the United States, following a battle with cancer.
Also present during today’s plenary sitting was the Prime Minister of Tooro, Rt. Hon. Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki.
