Waterfall Babe, by Cloudy.
A map that has been in the works for 2 years and it's finally out. I started playing this on release but had to take a break for a couple of weeks before I was able to continue and beat it yesterday. This map offers a great sense of exploration and mystery and there is still plenty of stuff to uncover, as noted by those cryptic messages. Thankfully the map has had some balancing done to it which honestly helped me beat it, that tower fall used to be absolutely brutal and was part of the reason I didn't play the map for a while.
From here, I want to speedrun this route of the map and then dive into the secrets and explore the rest of the map. All I know is that it's going to be very very hard, but hopefully that shouldn't stop me.
Honestly did not know that I was in the very final parts of the map, was expecting more (but I guess this map makes up for that in "horizontal height").

Some Area 3 cringe lost me a really great run, but for now, this is still really good. I did playtest this map so I had some prior knowledge coming into this, but still learnt many strats from Hybriiid and there are still a lot of strats that I know about but didnt do in the run because they are too risky. Sub 2:50 has to be possible and maybe even a mid 2:4X.
Also, with this full release, the VVVVVV map was changed and made some things I do in my speedruns impossible, so I added OLD VER to each of them. Apparently, BftB will be added to speedrun.com, so thats pretty cool.

The reason that there are two separate categories for nerfed/unnerfed is that the map was released with two versions in mind. Unlike every other custom map, this one planned to have two versions on release and were intentionally made to be completely different (in difficulty). My previous video was beating the unnerfed/original version of the map, but that is way too hard (in my opinion) to speedrun. The nerfed version gave me the ability to speedrun this map without it being the worst nightmare imaginable (despite area 7 giving me headaches).
I plan to leave this run for at least a while but my end goal would be sub 10. I got too much to do now that Waterfall Babe (a map in the works for over 2 years) is finally coming out this weekend and there will be tons of content within that map so stay tuned.
WR because CrazyNeighbour hasnt beat the map and therefore hasnt speedran it yet.

Everyone was posting their times in the discord, and so I set out to beat them. There are a couple of skips that I didnt use, that alongside slightly cleaner gameplay should be able to get a sub 2:30 with.

Had to pause during the middle of the run, but I guess that calmed me down and made me play crazy well in the second half, making really no noticeable mistakes. Im gonna have to change a couple more strats to ensure that I get a PB next time and not have to rely on not messing up those jumps I messed up on in this video (those jumps where you just fall back to the platform you were on if you undershoot). At the very end, you can hear the faintest of laughs as I am in disbelief that I just got the PB. Also, my first 0 falls, LETS GO.
