What a crazy PB.
I played a bit of this the other night, with no real faith in PBing, knowing that my strats were quite slow. However, today, I watched Hayao's 25m all-maps boots + ring run (insane btw) and saw the strats he used in wind. So with a really fast early game and some good boots + ring wind skips learned from that video, I was able to get this crazy 2 and a half minute PB.
0 falls one day.

The reason that there are two separate categories for nerfed/unnerfed is that the map was released with two versions in mind. Unlike every other custom map, this one planned to have two versions on release and were intentionally made to be completely different (in difficulty). My previous video was beating the unnerfed/original version of the map, but that is way too hard (in my opinion) to speedrun. The nerfed version gave me the ability to speedrun this map without it being the worst nightmare imaginable (despite area 7 giving me headaches).
I plan to leave this run for at least a while but my end goal would be sub 10. I got too much to do now that Waterfall Babe (a map in the works for over 2 years) is finally coming out this weekend and there will be tons of content within that map so stay tuned.
WR because CrazyNeighbour hasnt beat the map and therefore hasnt speedran it yet.

Everyone was posting their times in the discord, and so I set out to beat them. There are a couple of skips that I didnt use, that alongside slightly cleaner gameplay should be able to get a sub 2:30 with.

Had to pause during the middle of the run, but I guess that calmed me down and made me play crazy well in the second half, making really no noticeable mistakes. Im gonna have to change a couple more strats to ensure that I get a PB next time and not have to rely on not messing up those jumps I messed up on in this video (those jumps where you just fall back to the platform you were on if you undershoot). At the very end, you can hear the faintest of laughs as I am in disbelief that I just got the PB. Also, my first 0 falls, LETS GO.

Many new strats this time around, making this much less of an absolute nightmare than it could have been. This map can be pushed much further, but its a lot harder than it looks, the pain is omnipresent. 6:2X is easily possible with some true dedication.
While this was painful, Im still happy to run this again in the future, but for now, this is great. There are still new strategies to whip out if needed, but a lot can be done by simply playing better. I dont really expect this to last for a long time as there has been some strong activity for this map recently, also talk of newcomers swooping in to take the record, so well see what happens.

This run was from a week ago, but I was very dissatisfied with the ending, so I kept on grinding for a better run. Unfortunately, I havent been able to get a better run since and am currently demotivated at the moment to speedrun this map. Anyway, I looked back on this run and remembered how cracked it was, getting to Heavenly Ruin by 4:53. If you cant tell why Im demotivated, just watch the clips from 7:51 onwards.
That ending is just absolute sadness, such a waste of 10 seconds. I will come back to this eventually, but there is a lineup of maps on the way and so the plan is to beat and speedrun them.
Ive also been doing daily posts on the community tab. Ill probably run out of things to post so theyll probably end up being two/three times a week.
