Acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter Julian Taylor @thejuliantaylorband returned to TD Music Hall with his band for a special edition of the Celebrations & Revelations series in honour of Black History Month on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026. As the Inaugural Allied Music Centre Artist in Residence, Taylor delivered a stirring performance that reflected his 25-plus year journey as a fiercely independent artist. From co-founding the alt-rock band Staggered Crossing to leading the genre-blending Julian Taylor Band and earning widespread acclaim for his solo work, Taylor has built a career defined by authenticity, patience, and creative control. Now fully owning his musical legacy, he stands at a new creative peak, recognized with major honours including Canadian Folk Music Awards, Juno nominations, and a Polaris Music Prize nod. This performance captures an artist deeply connected to culture, community, and the power of lived experience.
