Berlin-based French-Swiss artist Julian Charrière’s solo exhibition ‘Concentrations 63: Julian Charrière, Towards No Earthly Pole’ is currently on view at the Dallas Museum of Art in Dallas, Texas. Charrière’s first solo museum exhibition in the U.S. provides immersive encounters with the artist’s melancholic and beautiful portraits of nature in the human era.
In this video interview with DMA curator Dr. Anna Katherine Brodbeck and artist Julian Charrière, we gain insight into the conceptual thinking behind many of the works on display, as well as the central video piece ‘Towards No Earthly Pole,’ which considers Arctic glaciers’ borderless existence and presents intertwining narratives of colonialism, environment, and the geographical imaginary. The exhibition runs until August 8, 2021.
