This song plays during the first half of the final dungeon in FFVII. This is actually where I figured out how to do more emotive strings and brass (I actually did this one before Anxious Heart and You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet), which made this song come out much more sentimental than I originally thought it would.

![Ethereal Unease - Austin Wintory Contest 2023
Something a bit different this time. I found out a few days ago that Austin Wintory is running a contest for musicians to make a song based just on twelve notes and I thought it sounded like a fun exercise, regardless of the results. I would have liked to develop this one a bit longer, but unfortunately I only noticed the contest at the beginning of the week and didnt have time to do more.

This song was sequenced in Pro Tools using the following plugins:
- Spectrasonics Omnisphere for the melody and most of the padwork
- Sample Logics Gamelan for the arpeggio
- EastWests Forbidden Planet for additional padwork
- Native Instruments Cloud Supply for additional padwork
- EastWests Hollywood Orchestra for a flute augmenting the longer notes in the padwork, the low cello later in the song, and the distant anvil later in the song
- EastWests Hollywood Choirs for the choir
- Native Instruments Butch Vig Drums for the noise burst percussion and the low drum
- EastWests Spaces II for additional reverb across many of the instruments
- XLN Audios RC-20 for additional processing on the percussion
