The oldest public railway in Australia*, the line from Mount Barker to Victor Harbor** in South Australia is also one of the most scenic (in my humble opinion). This video explores this historic area, starting in Mount Barker and travelling south towards Milang, Goolwa and Victor Harbor, with a little site trip to the beautiful mouth of the Murray River.

I acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands on which this video was filmed, the Peramangk and Ngarrindjeri people. I pay respects to Elders past, present and emerging and their extensive historical connection to land, water and country.

*Bracing myself for the comments section on this because yes, I know, technically only the bit between Port Elliot and Goolwa is the "oldest". But in my book, the parts form a whole. To me it's like arguing that the Monash Freeway isn't Melbourne's oldest freeway because the first bit was only a short section between Punt Road and MacRobertson Bridge.

**The official name is 'harbour' without a 'u'. See this link for the reasons why: https://www.samemory.sa.gov.au/site/page.cfm?c=8786
