The AFL Grand Final is arguably the biggest event in Melbourne's sporting calendar. Previously part of the Victorian Football League (VFL), it is one of the most popular matches in Australia.

With its long history back to 1898 there are a lot of things that have happened. So in the lead up to 2025 Grand Final Day we look at what I think are the five strangest grand finals to have ever been played (or not!)
