Journey to the Planets by Jack Verson, aka JV Software, is an intriguing, abstract graphic adventure for Atari 8-bit computers that some fans believe is a spiritual forerunner to the influential adventure game Myst. It's certainly got the obtuse puzzles and unsettling atmosphere going for it.
Be sure to try the original disk/cassette release rather than Roklan Software's somewhat pared-down cartridge version if you get the chance.
