Australian singer Josef Salvat's fame pretty much came out of nowhere, when his cover of Rihanna's hit 'Diamonds' got viral thanks to internet. His tortured voice, completed with a slow melancholic instrumental background widening the painful wound, perfectly catches the spirit of the song and revisited it with great talent and simplicity. Not so long ago, Josef was still a law student in Sydney, and now his song is featured in the new Sony commercial, playing everywhere. After offering us a very nice acoustic version of Diamonds, he interpreted a second track of his EP In Your Prime: here's the beautiful 'Open Season'!
La renommée du chanteur Australien Josef Salvat s'est construite subitement autour de son interprétation du titre 'Diamonds' de Rihanna, dont l'enregistrement est devenu viral sur le web en peu de temps. Sa voix torturée, complétée par un lent fond musical dont la tonalité mélancolique agrandit encore un peu plus cette blessure douloureuse, capture avec justesse et sensibilité l'atmosphère de la chanson, la revisitant avec talent et simplicité. Il n'y a pas très longtemps encore, Josef était un étudiant en Droit à Sydney, et maintenant on peut entendre sa voix sur tous nos écrans, Sony ayant choisi ce titre pour mettre sa nouvelle publicité en musique. Matt Simons is an American singer-songwriter and musician based in New York. He released his debut album Pieces on 19 June 2012 in the States, Gone being his debut single. The 10-track album with 9 being his own compositions was produced by Nashville producer and sound engineer Stephen Gause.
With the success of Deepends remix of Catch & release, Matt Simons is going on a european tour ! Crossing through France, we managed to get a hold on him for a live session on one of Paris rooftop !

Spoon, the American rock band formed in 1993 by John Britt Daniel (vocals, guitar) in Austin, Texas, is back with his 8th album, They Want My Soul, 4 years after the idolized release of Transference. Between Classic Rock and Post-Punk, with a hint of atmospheric touches that a floating synth beautifully integrates into the sound, this album aims at capturing the unknown, the finer feelings as 43-year old Britt puts it with his rasping voice. Each track is unique, well-produced and cleverly arranged, giving birth to an excellent album that received great critical acclaim: not all rock bands can brag about getting a 8.6 review by Pitchfork! Here, the tune Rainy Taxi contains the meticulously crafted energy and heaviness that we usually associate with the band, and this raw acoustic version brings up the fragmented voice of the singer, here accompanied by guitar player Alex Fischel. The energizing music of Saint Motel, this L.A.-based quatuor, is a concentrated product mix of dream pop and indie rock, brighten up with some colorful rhythms. During these past few years, the band has played there and there, going from one gig to another, sometimes playing first act for other great bands such as Band of Skulls, Imagine Dragons, or Arctic Monkeys, to name a few. After the success of their debut album ‘Voyeur‘ (2012), of which many tracks ranked #1 on the Hype Machine rankings, Saint Motel is landing in Europe with a new EP and the single ‘My Type‘, a joyful retro title, where a sexy saxophone melody plays the common thread of this heady musical theme, which, by the way, appears on the Fifa 2015 soundtrack… However, we chose to show you another track of the new record, as festive and dynamic as this one, in its acoustic version: this is ‘Cold Cold Man‘.

Singer and songwriter Greg Holden has made a name for himself as an independent artist for the past several years, thanks to his two albums, 2009’s ‘A Word in Edgeways‘ and 2011’s ‘I Don’t Believe You‘.
And you probably won’t stop hearing about him in the very next next days! The Scottish-born, England-bred and New York-based musician has released his major-label debut album, ‘Chase The Sun‘ (Warner Bros Records), produced by Greg Wells (who is the Adele and OneRepublic’s producer, not bad!). Inspired by a life-changing trip in India and Nepal in 2013, this album delivers a passionate rock music, driven by a vibrant energy and Holden’s subtle songwriting.
If the album’s title suggests a positive message, with the idea of staying focused on moving forward, ‘Boys In The Street‘ is perhaps the most poignant song of this opus. The artist originally wrote this song for compilation album being released by the LGBTQ organization Everyone Is Gay: « The instruction was to write ‘the gayest song ever,’ but I don’t really write happy, upbeat songs, I just can’t do it, so I wrote about a father and son who didn’t see eye to eye. The story explores the father’s lack of understanding towards his son’s sexuality. There is no bad guy, and no finger pointing. It’s a story with a message that I felt compelled to write about ».

So here is our first acoustic session for this week and its Kodaline ! Steve, Mark, Vinny and Jason have done everything they could to achieve their dream since their young age. Steve and Mark lived a few step from each others, in Ireland, and they met at the age of 8. Six years later, they took on Vinny, another neighbor and started their first band. Jason joined them recently to become their bassist.
Everything started in 2012. First, they became the support for The Cramberries European tour, and then they released they first EP. Last June, they released their first album « In a Perfect World » which was a total success.")
