Singer and songwriter Greg Holden has made a name for himself as an independent artist for the past several years, thanks to his two albums, 2009’s ‘A Word in Edgeways‘ and 2011’s ‘I Don’t Believe You‘.
And you probably won’t stop hearing about him in the very next next days! The Scottish-born, England-bred and New York-based musician has released his major-label debut album, ‘Chase The Sun‘ (Warner Bros Records), produced by Greg Wells (who is the Adele and OneRepublic’s producer, not bad!). Inspired by a life-changing trip in India and Nepal in 2013, this album delivers a passionate rock music, driven by a vibrant energy and Holden’s subtle songwriting.
If the album’s title suggests a positive message, with the idea of staying focused on moving forward, ‘Boys In The Street‘ is perhaps the most poignant song of this opus. The artist originally wrote this song for compilation album being released by the LGBTQ organization Everyone Is Gay: « The instruction was to write ‘the gayest song ever,’ but I don’t really write happy, upbeat songs, I just can’t do it, so I wrote about a father and son who didn’t see eye to eye. The story explores the father’s lack of understanding towards his son’s sexuality. There is no bad guy, and no finger pointing. It’s a story with a message that I felt compelled to write about ».

So here is our first acoustic session for this week and its Kodaline ! Steve, Mark, Vinny and Jason have done everything they could to achieve their dream since their young age. Steve and Mark lived a few step from each others, in Ireland, and they met at the age of 8. Six years later, they took on Vinny, another neighbor and started their first band. Jason joined them recently to become their bassist.
Everything started in 2012. First, they became the support for The Cramberries European tour, and then they released they first EP. Last June, they released their first album « In a Perfect World » which was a total success.")

Tom Peter Odell (born 24 November 1990) is a British singer-songwriter. He released his debut extended play, Songs from Another Love, in 2012 and won the BRITs Critics Choice Award in early 2013. His debut studio album, Long Way Down, was issued on 24 June 2013.

She draws her inspiration from her teenage years idols: Lauryn Hill and Destinys Child but she surely found her own universe. Seinabo Sey its a mix between a particular and powerful voice, and the famous swedish pop. However, what makes her so special is how she can make us believe every word she sings and the accuracy of her lyrics.

After the success of her first album, which sold 150 000 copies, and a 2-year long tour, Camélia Jordana is back with a new one that most certainly conveys her love for life. Bel Plaine is a French band formed in 2012. They won the prize of Young Talents Paris and SFR Young Talents 2013. Anthony and Morgan seduced us with their title Lifeboat, first single from their album released on 3 June.

That’s deep in the depth of the mythical ‘Caveau de la Huchette‘, a former meeting point for Templar Knights now converted into a Parisian temple for Jazz and Blues lovers, that we met up with Zara Desbonnes and Frédéric Grange, the two iconic members of the As Animals duo. In a moonlight atmosphere, the powerful and hypnotic voice of the young Guyanese interprets here a great acoustic version of the tribal As Animals, a track taken from the album bearing the same name, by artists named seemingly… A marvelous eponymous title.")

Skip The Use is a french band that falls in line with The Clash, Rage Against The Machine and Coltrane. What defines them is that you cant put a label on their music. Their new album « Little Armagedon » is a mix of rock, ska, punk and so many more influences. Here, here singer Mat Bastard and guitarist Yan Stefani give us an incredible acoustic version of « Nameless world », first single of the album that will be out on Frebraury the 24th. We already met them 2 years ago, just after they signed with Polydor, for a coffee and a live show.

What better way to express Jonathan Jeremiah‘s talent than recording a genuine acoustic outdoors session ? The London musician and his deep voice blew our mind with his authentic, deep folk/ soul music.
And we probably won’t be the only ones to praise the musician, since he just released a beautiful second album, ‘Oh Desire‘. This record, influenced by 60′s/70′s music, pays a special tribute to his British-Indian father, who transmitted his passion for soul music to his son; and his mother with Irish roots, thanks to the acoustic ballad ‘The Devil’s Hillside’. « My parents were both emigrants, which might explain the fact that a lot of my songs are about travelling, and the difficulty that such an adventure implies, especially to fit in somewhere« , explained Jonathan.
A melancholy that can be found in his new album, in which he tackles questions of grief, love, despair, as well as childhood memories and the need to escape.
The artist performed ‘Oh Desire‘ for us, accompanied by his guitar (and friendly bird whistles!). A true wonder of emotion in the purest folk tradition!")

Jazz singer Molly Johnson released her new album Because of Billie earlier this month, a tribute to Billie Holliday. For years, people have said to me, You are so much like Billie Holliday. My response has been No, I am because of Billie. Her generation sacrificed for my privilege and I am honor-bound to them. As a result, the Canadian singer will donate a portion of album sales to programs for underprivileged youth and families, and is creating the Billie Holliday Foundation. Full of life and enthusiasm, shes been treating her audience for years with a great repertoire of mostly jazzy but sometimes pop songs. Here, accompanied by Mike Downes (double bass) and Robi Botos (piano) she interprets us Solitude, taken from her album Lucky, already an homage to Billie Holliday, as she recorded in 1946 a version of this Jazz classic composed by Duke Ellington, under the name (In My) Solitude.
