Lyrics:
On a field sable
Semy d'argent etoiles
Decrescent d'argent
Rondel d'or
Rondel gules
Rondel d'azure et vert
Black the field of the night's device
Silver scattered withal
On the field of the night's device
Ride our hopes
Ride our fears
Ride the dreams of us all
Glittering stars fleck the night's broad shield
Silver beacons burning far
Locking boundaries upon a field
Every night
A challenge bright
A quest for fire and steel
Crescent moon fading far behind
Silver sentry in our skies
Guiding guardians for questing minds
Fills our souls
Lifts our goals
Leads us on to the skies
Gone the globes, once the homes of men
Gone the hearth and the womb
Gift of arms and the vigil ends
On that field
Darkness yields
Rockets flare once again
On a field sable
Semy d'argent etoiles
Decrescent d'argent
Rondel d'or
Rondel gules
Rondel d'azure et vert

Lyrics:
Weve listened to you laugh about Chernobyl and Afghanistan,
Perhaps you should have listened to all those five-year plans.
Patience has rewarded us, as only patience might,
And theres a new red star in the east tonight.
Chorus:
Step by step, we leave you here alone.
Step by step, we make your dreams our own.
Step by step, we leave you all behind,
One small step at a time.
We see your apprehension at all that were becoming.
We build our cities out in space—you sneer at our plumbing.
But be not troubled, Yankee, youve not a thing to fear;
After all, the Russian word for “peace” is “Mir.”
(Chorus)
And look to your eastern horizon—can you see the red star rising?
Judging by your culture, we see now why you worry.
Americans! Youre always in such a hurry.
Well soon replace the fable of the tortoise and the hare
With a new one, with an eagle and a bear.
(Chorus)
One small step, one giant leap at a time...
Step by step by step by step the longest march
Can be won, can be won.
Many stones can form an arch;
Singly, none. Singly, none.
And together, what we will,
It can be accomplished still.
Many drops can turn a mill.
Singly, none. Singly, none. Singly, none! UnReal Estate 02 - Red Star Rising [HQ]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/0i4ZETgfNuM/mqdefault.jpg)

Lyrics:
The full earth stands at our left hands
And the pale moon on the right.
All fire and steel, our Catherine-wheel
Rolls through the endless night.
The sun may burn at full astern
And the power-cells drink deep;
Both day and night stand in our sight
From waking unto sleep.
Chorus:
And we spin long light from the glory of the sun,
Yes, we spin long light from the glory of the sun,
And the light-gems glow on the Earth below
In the bright web spun from the glory of the sun.
The powers run from the brazen sun
Through the web of heavens height
To the opal world, like a clouded pearl
Strung on a thread of light.
And we pace our turn from bow to stern
Through the elfin-summer field
Where the power cells like flower bells
Drink all the sun can yield.
(Chorus)
The well-paced blips of the factory ships
Slide past our orbits brink,
Like a swarm of bees in the girder trees
Come to our flowers to drink.
And the Earth is clean as a springtime dream;
No factory-smokes appear—
For theyve left the land to the gardeners hand,
And they all are circling here!

Lyrics (Fred Small):
From the land of shooting waters to the peaks of the Coeur dAlene
Thimbleberries in the forest, elk grazing on the plain
The people of the coyote made their camp along the streams
Of the green Wallowa Valley, when fences had no name
And they bred a strain of horses, the treasure of the tribe
Who could toe-dance on a ridge or gallop up a mountainside
Who could haul the hunters burden, turn a buffalo stampede
The horse that wore the spotted coat was born with matchless speed
Chorus: Thunder-Rolling-in-the-Mountains,
Lead the people across the Great Divide
Theres blood on the snow in the hills of Idaho
But the heart of the Appaloosa never died
In the winter came the crowned ones, near frozen in the cold
Bringing firearms and spyglasses and a book that saves the soul
The people gave them welcome, nursed them till their strength returned
And studied the talking paper, its mysteries to learn
In the shadow of the mission sprang up farms and squatter towns
Fences lined the prairie, the plow blade split the ground
In the shallows of the Clearwater, gold glittered in the pan
And word would come from Washington: Remove the Indian
(Chorus)
The chief spoke to the people in his anger and his pain
I am no more Chief Joseph, Rolling Thunder is my name
They condemn us to a wasteland of barren soil and stone
We shall fight them if we must, but we will find another home.
They fled into the Bitterroot, an army at their heels
They fought at White Bird Canyon, they fought at Misery Hill
Till the colonel saw his strategy and sent the order down
To kill the Appaloosa wherever it be found
(Chorus)
Twelve hundred miles retreating, three times over the Divide
The horse their only safety, their only ally
Three thousand Appaloosas perished with the tribe
The people and the horses dying side by side
Thunder-Rolling-in-the-Mountains said, My heart is sick and sad
Our children now are freezing, the old chiefs are dead
The hunger takes our spirit, our wounds are deep and sore
From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more.
(Chorus)
They were sent to Oklahoma, malaria ran rife
But more died of broken hearts, far from the land that gave them life
And the man once called Joseph at death was heard to say
We have given up our horses, they have gone away.
But sometimes without warning, from a dull domestic herd
A spotted horse of spirit wondrous will emerge
Strong it is and fearless and nimble on a hill
Listening for thunder, the Appaloosas living still

Lyrics:
In the time of rising mountains, in the age when life was new
The trees were the rulers of life on earth, and the world as a forest grew
But a new life found the forest, and a new life tore the land
So the dryad came to protect the wood, to stay the human hand,
Singing, “I am the strength of the heart and the root,
I am the soul of the wood.”
In the time of ancient mountains, in an age no longer new
A man walked into the hardwood grove with a chainsaw and its crew
He reached for the crippled oak tree, and he waved his crew to start
When a vision leapt from the broken limb, and pierced him through the heart,
Singing, “I am the strength of the heart and the root,
I am the soul of the wood.”
She was Sun and Moon and Starlight, she was Earth and Sky and Sea
She was everything that hed ever loved, and all that he wished to be
And she sang of the elder forests, and she sang of the rustling wind
And her arms reached out from the jagged bark, reached out to pull him in,
Singing, “I am the strength of the heart and the root,
I am the soul of the wood.”
But the man pulled out an acorn, and he held it to her eyes
Then he sang to her of birth and life—that even an oak must die
Then she knew that her tree had withered, so she turned, no longer strong
And she passed away, and the chainsaw roar drowned out her final song,
Singing, “I am the strength of the heart and the root,
I am the soul of the wood.”
In the night under ancient mountains, in the night under autumn sky
A man looks down at a rotting stump, and he shakes his head and sighs
So he kneels to plant the acorn and he hears a quiet sound
Its the sound of joy and the hope of spring—the new life in the ground!
Singing, “I am the strength of the heart and the root,
I am the soul of the wood.”
Singing, “I am the strength of the heart and the root,
I am the soul of the wood.” Bill Sutton - Caretakers [HQ]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/29zXUjH0Sd4/mqdefault.jpg)

Lyrics:
I am the phoenix rising high
To tell the story this time round
Of all whose spirits long to fly
And the freedom of the stars unbound
I am the harper in the night
Whose memory is long
And I chose to share the dream of flight
With others in my song
I am the phoenix riding fire
From deaths dark vision into light
Still filled with my last hearts desire
For the haunting ecstasy of flight
I am the harper in the night
Still searching for the dawn
And the will to give my vision life
Will bring the daylight on
I am the phoenix, see my wings
Of golden mist in music bound
My spirit seeks the stars that sing
And together with their chorus sounds
I am the harper without fear
My last reward will be
To become the dream I hold most dear

Lyrics (TTTO Paid Soldiers of Dorsai by Robert Asprin, which itself is TTTO Song of the Mens Side, Leslie Fish):
Well you can talk about the Swiss, how their pressmen rose to fame,
And count all the sheets they run
Or the German men, the Heidelbergs by name,
Whose great rollers flashed in the sun
You can sing of all the signatures weve found, stitched and bound,
And you still have to ask us why
In this day of lasers hum, inkjets hiss, still exist

Lyrics:
Just a little general hospital in a little factory town
The board put me in charge for mainly keeping prices down
I hadnt touched a patient since 1982
But the day of the explosion I remembered what to do
At eleven in the morning, we all heard the factory blow
The blast took out the windows, and the shrapnel fell like snow
We could get no help from out of town for half a day or more
We had near a thousand casualties and beds for ninety-four
Chorus:
And can you keep your head, your backbone, or your heart?
We all found out the answer on the day it fell apart
It was worse than combat medicine; supplies were draining fast
Bandages ran out and antiseptics wouldnt last
I took all the able-bodied I could catch inside the door
And made them help the doctors or go scrounge supplies and more
I invented laws to tell them, saying, In such emergency,
Forget your usual job and boss, your orders come from me.
I sent the cops to commandeer anything in reach:
Food or disinfectant cloth or alcohol or bleach
(Chorus)
The janitor ran cleanup squad, the cook maintained supplies
The garbageman removed the ones who died before our eyes
The clerks burned all our papers to boil water on the fire
For sterilizing instruments, as the body count went higher
A local healthfood herbalist brought everything he had
The painkillers were useful, and the poultices werent bad
A smack and cocaine pusher handed us his whole supply
The quality was lousy, but a few more didnt die
(Chorus)
We did triage in the parking lot, ranked minor, major, grave
A sad-eyed fireman gave the stroke to those we couldnt save
Then sometime in the chaos, a director wandered in
To tell us we were breaking rules, what trouble wed be in—
But if wed swear the factory was not the fires cause
And the harm was accidental, hed forget the broken laws.
The staff sneaked up and grabbed him, and tied him to a door
He gave them blood transfusions till he hadnt any more
(Chorus)
When that day was over and wed saved all that we could,
We saw that law and politics would hang us where we stood
Wed saved eight hundred lives but shattered all authority
I told them, People, save yourselves, put all the blame on me.
I took my books and instruments, and a few supplies beside
Packed my car and ran away to open countryside
So now I live an outlaw, condemned by righteous men
But for all the lives I saved that day, Id do it all again.
(Chorus)
Can you keep your head, your backbone, or your heart?

Lyrics (TTTO The Quest, Leslie Fish):
Now the fans came home from the press, blackened and sore they came,
Inky of hair and dress, deafened, blunt-fingered, and lame
In printing we take no shame, well say it in black and white
But tomorrows the con, my sanitys gone, and the run must be done tonight!
Chorus: So here is my press to mend (kathunka!)
Here is my plate to be shot
The fountains too strong,
The runs too long,
But well print whatever weve got
Well print whatever weve got
Oh, dark and deep was the scum that crept over half of our plate
We still dont know where its from, but we noticed it much too late
For half of the reams been run, of 80-pound Astrobright
Our cover is blown, he said with a grown, and the run must be done tonight!
(Chorus)
Now the feeds making noises strange, and every third sheet gets jammed,
Or wrapped round the rollers, or swallowed quite whole, or folded and monogrammed
The crud sheets are filling the chute, the jogger is losing the fight,
The drive belt just broke, I think I smell smoke, but the run must be done tonight!
(Chorus)
Now our pages you count and know, our volumes so fine and thick,
But you have not seen my foe being serviced by A. B. Dick
Oh, surely well print again, again, but well sell the damn press for junk
Give Kinkos a call, or Xerox it all, and never again kathunk (kathunka! kathunka! kathunka!)
