Hey everyone, it’s Kenji.Food and music have always been my greatest passions. Both of these crafts are windows into who we are. Our cultures, our histories, and ourselves, and at their best, they become arts with the ability to make us see the world in new ways.In the kitchen, I study the science and technique of cooking in order to be more expressive. And on stage, my friends, The Knights, push musical boundaries in ways that inspire and nourish us.For the past three years, my live interactive stage show, Tasting Notes, has been exploring how food and music intersect in surprising, beautiful ways. And on Tuesday, May 12 at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, I’d like you to join me and The Knights for A Musical Feast. It’s a multi-course meal with live cooking demonstrations, delectable musical selections, and lively conversation, all benefiting The Knights’ activities.The Knights will be sharing the stage with GRAMMY-nominated violinist Tessa Lark who brings her Kentucky bluegrass roots to the classical world, as well as special musical guest Gabriel Kahane, while I’ll be cooking a family-style meal that reflects the unique cultures and ingredients that have shaped New York.I’m really looking forward to spending the evening with you exploring the boundaries between food and music and how great art can transcend them.
