Released in 2016, the nose behind it is Rodrigo Flores-Roux, who is a senior perfumer now at Givaudan, but has worked at a variety of different brands, such as Dolce and Gabbana. He did some stuff for Kylie Minogue and he did the whole John Varvatos range, or at least the vast majority of it.

Vintage opens with chamomile, rhubarb, fennel and basil. It's also quite boozy, which is reminiscent of Danish akvavit. The heart consists of juniper, patchouli, and jasmine. Meanwhile, the base delivers tonka bean, orris root, and oakmoss.
03:30 Wake & Strength
John Varvatos performs quite decently overall. If you apply it in the morning on the way to the office, you'll need to reapply probably around lunchtime. The projection stays close to the skin but the sillage is quite good.

Best worn during autumn and winter, John Varvatos Vintage could also be used during the early spring. Otherwise, it isn't very effective during warmer weather.
