In honor of David McCullough who passed away this week, this video is a short tribute to the wondefully detailed biography he wrote on John Adams, dramatized in a spectacular miniseries on HBO in 2008. In this video I discuss why John Adams is a somewhat overlooked founding father and his impact on American history, and I also praise the John Adams miniseries for having accurately reconstructed the pronunciation of 18th century English. I also mention my view on "historically accurate patriotism," and how knowledge of the facts of history, good and bad, is essential to appreciating the deeds of those who came before us. 🇺🇸
