Joe Rogan's podcast with Theo Von showed him claiming that he was elk hunting with Charlie Kirk passed, sounding very authoritative, and giving very specific details as to what happened, such as using starlink and getting a lot of messages about the incident. However, a fan pointed out that he was actually live recording a podcast with Charlie Sheen when it happened, where he had an ostensibly strong reaction to the situation.
Joe Rogan responded to this by claiming it was a memory problem: "Honestly I just remembered it wrong. I was elk hunting when Jimmy Kimmel was getting people angry at him for joking about the assassination and blaming it on MAGA.
I would never “lie” about that. I just had a dumb memory moment.".
There are many issues with Joe Rogan's memory claim. First, he has no credibility as someone being honest. He is clearly a grifter who will change his opinion or sell out for money, as we saw with his deal with Spotify. Second, the memories that he claims to mix up are extremely major, not something trivial such as what you ate for breakfast a few days ago, making it unlikely to be a mix up. Third, he's all about taking these supplements or vitamins like "alpha brain" pills, doesn't believe in vaccines, and yet can't even remember what is easily the most formative moment in pop culture in the past year. How is anyone supposed to take him seriously?
Many of Joe Rogan's fans were angry at him for how he treated Theo Von, demanding that he apologize.
