Jimmy Spencer was one of the the most memorable NASCAR drivers the golden era of the 1990s. This shop was most known for his Busch Series team, Spencer Motor Ventures, with the Zippo car and Schneider Trucking car of Dick Trickle. In 1989 he built this building after moving down from Pennsylvania to serve as his home base for all things racing. Jimmy rented the shop to Rod Osterlund where he drove the Heinz Ketchup car before absorbing Osterlund's equipment after several missed rent payments. Michael Kranefuss also started his Winston cup series team here with driver John Andretti! Jimmy built a bigger shop in 1999 and eventually sold this shop to someone else. He has not been back inside in a long time...until today!
