It took five tries and a boat "upgrade" but I made it. The last time I water-skied was about 30 years and 30 pounds ago. It feels good to be nearing 60 and still able to relive a bit of my youth.

A fellow boater came by and asked if we were camping overnight. I told him we'd be leaving in an hour but I would give him our perfect spot "right now" if he would take me for a ski run. He said, don't rush, but I'll take you for a run when we get back. They arrived with a houseboat and two ski boats. The first boat didn't have enough power to get this fat old man out of the water, but the second boat did.
