Jesus said He did not come to bring peace on earth, but a sword.
The gospel is one of the most clear-cut, narrow paths, period. Jesus said in Matthew 10 that this gospel of Jesus Christ will cause families to be divided, where even parents will hand over their children to death. And Jesus asks, who will you choose? Will you choose family? Will you choose friends? Or will you choose Him?
Jesus says that unless you are willing to forsake everything, even your closest relatives and family, to follow Him, and even to lay down your life for Him, you are not worthy of Him. This gospel is not shallow in its commitment. It must reach to the very core of our being. And we as Christians must choose. We follow Jesus no matter what it costs, no matter the price, because He is worthy of it all, because He paid it all for us!🔥🙏
