Sydney based visual artist Jess Cochrane made a mess inside the Ironlak Studio in Brisbane, Australia.

The work of Jess Cochrane is well outside of the typical for Ironlak – her message is distinctive, unapologetic, and seeks to highlight the problems caused by an industry that force feeds the masses with perfection. “We're constantly bombarded with imagery; advertising and we're conditioned to think and feel a certain way“, says Jess – attempting to place the viewer of her work into an introspective bind and posing the question: “Is it really ugly? or is it beautiful because you've pushed it?”.

We got to know Jess over a few short days spent in the Ironlak Studio, and visited one of her large scale works hanging at the Brisbane Powerhouse.
