While taking some footage of Jeff Bezos’s / Oceanco’s Koru last Monday we also had an unexpected guest which came along: the mighty Sleipnir. Perhaps something completely different but perhaps interesting to see some comparisons.

Koru is the World’s largest sailing yacht (Sailing yacht A is sail assisted MOTOR YACHT)
Sleipnir is the World’s largest crane vessel

The 2019 delivered Sleipnir, in service for Heerema, is equipped with two Huisman cranes which have a lifting capacity of 10,000 tons each or 18,000 tons combined.

The 3,300 GT Koru has a length of 127m/ 417ft, a beam of 16m/ 52'6” and a draft of 6.5m / 21'4”
The 136,709 GT Sleipnir Sleipnir has a length of 220m/ 722ft, a beam of 102m/ 334’7” and a draft of 32m/ 104ft

Sleipnir accommodates 400 employees and Koru most likely 12 guests and 20 crew.

Some say Koru will cost US$ 500M (which in our opinion is way to high). The construction costs of Sleipnir were EUR 1.5 billion
