The upgrades over the previous version start with the sound. JBL uses a dual-driver hybrid approach this time around, with one dynamic driver and one balanced armature driver working together to deliver a noticeable boost in music clarity and definition, not to mention bass response. Noise cancelation has also improved.
The case uses a 30% larger touchscreen than its predecessor, and while it's not the most slim case out there, that screen really sets it apart. You can do all kinds of things on that screen, from viewing album art to skipping tracks to tweaking your sound. But perhaps its best feature is that it can double as a Bluetooth transmitter, which opens up all kinds of useful possibilities.
