The Ultra works so well as a preamp for many reasons, including its wealth of connections. There is HDMI ARC for connecting a TV. USB and optical inputs, including an optical output for digital pass-through to another DAC. Also, there are analog RCA inputs and outputs, including a phono input for your turntable.
Internally, Wiim uses a high-res ESS SABRE digit-to-analog converter, which has the important job of turning digital ones and zeroes into analog music for your amplifier to play. It helps all your digital music sound its best, especially high-res files.
Wiim has a whole family of streamers, all of which can work together to form a multi-room music system, all of which can be controlled through the Wiim Home app.
