VeganLinked | Jason from Friday the 13th Interview Ari Lehman & Stew at The Haunted Pyramids @VeganLinked | Uploaded October 2022 | Updated October 2024, 52 minutes ago.
On my way driving back from doing interviews in Iowa, Chicago, and Detroit I ran into Ari Lehman at a vegan restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky called The Social Vegan. Ari first appeared in Friday the 13th (1980) as Jason Voorhees, the young son of camp-cook-turned-killer Mrs. Voorhees. He's been vegetarian since before his part in this most infamous horror movie. visit FirstJason.com
Ari shared that he would be in Lawndale North Carolina near me soon with his band "First Jason" at The Haunted Pyramids. He said he is vegan except when he is on the road when it's harder to avoid cheese. So I just had to interview him and in hopes to encourage him to go vegan and stay this way even on the road. And of course it's awesome to capture his story and unique journey.
I shot this interview on Sunday October 16th. I had just returned from an 18 hour drive back from Texas where I shot 25 interviews and 7 presentations and had been gone for almost 3 weeks. After I shot this with Ari I had to drive to DC for the Animal and Vegan Advocacy Summit where I was gone for 5 days and returned with 14 interviews, 3 presentations and 7 quick booth interviews.
I have over 50 interviews that are more of what the VeganLinked community is use to coming next that I've already captured and many more I have scheduled to do. I just wanted to inspire Ari to take things to another level as well as capture and share his unique and awesome story that was perfect timing to do for Halloween this weekend :) He happened to be right down the road from where I live in a county that has about 8 vegans in all. I have some epic interviews with straight up amazing vegans coming!
His band was late so I didn't have enough time to get much in. I wanted my friend Stew to interview Ari first covering movie and musical side. I planned to get him next but due to limited time I'll get him next time instead. Nonetheless he shared his veg side with us. And I got to plug Dairy is Scary. It was a great time and I love having a variety ❤

Ari is the first nonvegan, but essentially vegan forward at least person I have interviewed for this channel. When I was at the National Health Association Conference it was about health. Those attendees were mostly health oriented but care about the animals too. They may not be as vocal about the ethics whether they may or may not be as connected with it. But their behaviors are nonetheless vegan. And that matters the most.
When I was at the Animal Rights Conference, Animal and Vegan Advocacy Summit (AVA Summit), and other similar types they were more focused on ethics than health. Vegan World 2026 focuses more on the Climate
My channel gives you all the sides. All the sides matter to me and are important for me to share. I want the NHA to be focused on ethics just as much as I want AVA Summit to focus on the health. I want
