Hey everyone, here's a cover of the Dire Straits track "Sultans Of Swing".
This was a fun one, because it's another one that I do with Unsuspected ( @unsuspected4678 ), but with this cover I wanted to do it as close as possible to the original Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler performance, meaning playing with fingers only and no plectrum (my right thumb had a blister for at least two weeks after recording this).
This is also the first appearance of my new snare in a video, a Yamaha Stage Custom Steel 14x6.5". @joeylizziomusic02 and I went snare drum shopping in July 2023, and he originally wanted a Stage Custom Birch like my other snare, but found that the model that was in stock at the time didn't sound as good as my birch snare. While we were there, we tried out a few other snares, and I really loved the sound of this snare and ended up buying it. Joey did buy a new snare, and he will appear in a couple of other covers from this album with that snare, so stay tuned for those.
