Hey people, here's a cover of "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" by Jeff Beck.
After hearing that Jeff Beck passed away at the start of this year, I wanted to do a cover that (hopefully) paid respect to him. I loved his guitar playing on the Blow By Blow album, and especially this song.
One of the best versions of the song is the 2007/2008 live version from Ronnie Scott's with Tal Wilkenfeld on bass (youtube.com/watch?v=f6n_EJ5ynQo), and so I based my arrangement on a mix of that and the original 1975 studio recording -- The guitar solo is from the original recording, but I also added an added electric piano solo before the guitar solo with chord changes based on the chords under Tal's bass solo in the Ronnie Scott's live version.
Speaking of the electric piano, this is the first time I attempted combining two keyboard sounds in one performance -- the electric piano sound in this is a mix of the Rhodes sound from the Nord piano, and one of the brighter FM-style electric piano sounds from the Korg XP-60.
