Hello Everyone,

We're here with the first poll of the New Year, 2021! We have 5 new samples in various styles and one is so weird I'm not sure what I'd even classify it as. Let's jump right in!

The first track is "The Scorpion's Sting." It's got a chill beat mixed with film noir kind of vibe to it, which I really enjoyed. I envisioned a noir seductress who seems a lot more innocent on the face of things, but in reality she's a cutthroat calling the shots and she'll stop at nothing to get her way. We have a grungy guitar providing the chords, a chilled out bass giving us that seedy feeling, a hiphop kind of drum kit adding a little modern flair and some other synthetic sounds providing out high end.

Next up we've got the sad piano solo, "Uncertain Destination." The piano has a very soft and delicate sound, which I really love. We start off slowly in a film-scorey way and ease into the main melody that begins just shy of the 30 second mark. As we progress, the velocity of the notes becomes harder and you can feel the intensity of feeling begin to surge.

And now for the track where I have no idea what happened. To start, it's called "Crazy Clown in China Town." I probably shouldn't write anymore and just leave it at that, but I'll try to navigate my way through a brief summary. I started doing a film noir theme mixed with Chinese instruments. It kind of went off the deep end though. We have some crazy piano, pizzicato strings, some guzheng (plucked strings), and the Erhu (think Chinese violin).

Back to some semblance of normalcy, we have "We Rule the Sky." This is an epic orchestral track with heavy percussion and noble, powerful strings. The brass and female vocals take the lead melodies. I got the sense of soaring adventure and strength while writing this. Then the imagery of a majestic palace among the clouds entered my head and I thought it was a great fit.

Lastly, we have "Crime Never Sleeps." This is an 80's retro action theme. We have our city at night, most likely being terrorized by gangs on motorcycles. We have our hero, who also happens to ride a motorcycle, wearing shades at night and toting several large firearms in public. We have our 80's, super-reverbed drum kit, our synthetic brass and our high-pitched plucky things. Crime may not sleep, but we've come prepared.
