Transcript:
So I love research. I love the ability to examine the new frontiers in our understanding of heart disease and gather data and make and link new connections to improve the care of our patients with heart disease.

I'm Jamie Bourque. I'm a professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and the medical director of nuclear Cardiology. Echo choreography in the stress lab.

So my research is focused on patients who have unexplained chest pain. They often have significantly reduced functional status and uncomfortable symptoms, and we are looking at ways to use exercise and other novel therapies to help diagnose these patients so they understand why they're having chest pain and how to manage their symptoms and improve their functional status.

So we're using exercise stress testing to diagnose the cause of chest pain in patients and then we're using high intensity exercise on a treadmill, along with other novel therapies, to help improve symptoms and functional status in our heart disease patients.
