James McClean arrived for training at Derry City today despite a move from the club to have his contract terminated.

He arrived at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium, where Derry were conducting an open training session as part of the Féile Derry festivities, at around 10am.

Asked by reporters if he would remain a Derry City FC player, he replied: “Clearly.”

The Irish Independent understands that the club informed McClean, who rejoined his hometown club at the start of the season after a long spell in England, that they were ending his contract, which had two years left to run.
