James Gunn's new DCU is now in full swing, with the recently released Superman movie and Peacemaker Season 2 premiering in August, as well as a slate of DC projects set to release in 2026. These include Lanterns, a series focused on Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart, Supergirl, and Clayface. One of the most anticipated DCU movies is The Brave and the Bold, which is set to introduce the Bat-Family and Damian Wayne as Robin. Much of Batman's mythos will likely carry over from the comics, such as Dick Grayson as Nightwing and possibly Jason Todd as Red Hood. One of the most important things that needs to be established is Batman's physical competency as a crimefighter, having the physical and mental abilities to keep up with Wonder Woman, Superman, The Flash, and the rest of the Justice League. It’s also imperative that the DCU’s Batman remain separate from The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson. There are a multitude of inspirations Gunn can draw from, such as the Batman Arkham games, the DCAU, Young Justice, and more.
