In this video, we are looking at another disturbing example of what is being normalized in modern pulpits. Jameliah Gooden gets in the pulpit and instead of handling the Word of God with reverence, sobriety, and holiness, the moment turns into crude talk, inappropriate sexual comments about her husband, and language that has no business being presented as preaching.

The pulpit is not a comedy club. The pulpit is not a place for shock value. The pulpit is not a place for pastors, prophets, prophetesses, or preachers to entertain people with nasty stories, suggestive comments, or vulgar speech. The pulpit is supposed to be a sacred place where the Word of God is proclaimed faithfully and where Christ is exalted.

The Bible is very clear that those who teach will be judged with greater strictness. James 3:1 says, “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.” That means the people standing before God’s people should not treat the moment lightly. They should not use the pulpit as a stage to say whatever they want and then call it “being real.”

Ephesians 5:3-4 says, “But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you… Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.” That is exactly the issue here. Crude joking is out of place. Filthy talk is out of place. Sexualized pulpit talk is out of place.

Colossians 3:8 says believers are to put away “anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.” So when someone gets up in the pulpit and starts cursing or speaking in a nasty way, we do not excuse it by saying, “Well, that is just their personality.” No, Scripture calls us to a higher standard.

This is not about being fake. This is not about pretending Christians never discuss marriage, intimacy, or real-life issues. The Bible speaks about marriage. The Bible speaks about sexuality. The Bible speaks about husbands and wives. But Scripture handles those subjects with honor, wisdom, and holiness. There is a difference between biblical teaching on marriage and someone turning the pulpit into a place for vulgar entertainment.

The problem is that many churches have become so addicted to personality-driven preaching that they will laugh at anything, shout over anything, and call anything “anointed” as long as the preacher has charisma. But charisma is not character. Volume is not anointing. Shock value is not revelation. Being “bold” is not the same as being biblical.
