A lot of people default to using snipers and stealth kills. I say stab them all.
Fidel is nice (when he's not talking) to have for the melee counter ability but he wasn't available and he's also a tad pricey.

After this take the Fleatown and Port Cacao mines. Replace Livewire with Magic when you can afford it. Pray to the RNG gods for machetes and slaughter everyone. The Thing and Composite Machete are pretty easy to acquire early on too.
