This week, I'm throwing and trimming the "large" variant of my new standardised bowl form. I'm making these from 2.2 lb, (997 grams), okay, let's call it a kilo, thrown to 20 cm wide by 10.7 cm tall.
But that's not all, together with demonstrating the crafting process, I'm also discussing a few topics, the first, is why I think it's so important to learn how to throw shapes repetitively and identically, if your aim is to build a solid grounding of skill. Secondly, I want to ask you a question that has something to do with a piece I'm currently writing about craft, which I will pose to you towards the end of this weekend's video.
Otherwise, I hope you enjoy my continued fixation on the type of bowl, there's technical talk, throwing and trimming advice and I tell you about how I'm planning on keeper better notes for the sake of my future-self. Oh, and I share my sheer love of my laminator, what a tool!
