KOJRO Retro innovations | It’s only logical. Episode 19 “We test the 7-Segment Display” A Christmas Calendar from KOJRO RI. @kojroRI | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
This is my second take on a 24 episode Christmas calendar. Last time the task was presenting a new vintage computer from the MS-Dos area each time. This time I am going to cover some even older bits of computer history, and these bits play a part even today. We are going to look into the bread-and-butter logic chips, and the theory behind them. Mainly the 74xxx series of TTL gates.
In the Nineteenth episode we couple up the decoder and connects the input to our 74193 counter. We have a beautiful blue quite large 7 segment displays that we use to watch the counting in BCD and more.
