It’s Canadian thanksgiving again (hoo-ray!)
It’s time to pour maple syrup on the turkey
For those not too familiar with the taste
It’s better than you think; you shouldn’t worry (yum yum)
It’s Canadian thanksgiving again (hoo-ray!)
It’s time to add cranberry to your poutine
There’s no need to take any item off
Just mix it right up with the fries, the cheese and gravy (yum yum!)
It's always the second Monday in October (every year)
When we gather to celebrate nature’s bounties
If we find someone who’s not thankful enough
They’re promptly taken to prison by a Mountie (so be good, eh)
It’s Canadian thanksgiving again (hooray!)
The kids can’t wait to open up their gifts
They’ll probably get a toque and some mittens
Everything will have a maple leaf sewn on it (awesome)
It’s Canadian Thanksgiving again (hooray!)
You can buy a two four of beer, but don’t abuse it
And tomorrow when the day’s over and done
It’s time to start playing Christmas music! (Ho ho ho)

When we gather to celebrate nature's bounties
If we find someone who’s not thankful enough
They’re promptly taken to prison by a Mountie (so be good, eh)
Though most of the day is fun and games, there is one solemn part
The mid-day royal address by the King or Queen
It’s broadcast on every station and it touches every heart
It’s so moving, there’s not a dry eye to be seen
Then at the end of the speech, we say a prayer for their health
It’s my favourite custom in the commonwealth
I guess you don’t have to pray if you’re not religious
But you’re gonna have a moment of silence with the rest of us

O, Canada
we stand on guard for thee
Now please pass me the syrup
To pour on the turkey
O, Canada

To pour on the turkey
O, Canada
we stand on guard for thee
Now please pass me the syrup
To pour on the turkey
O, Canada
we stand on guard for thee
Now please pass me the syrup
To pour on my delicious turkey
Yum Yum yum yum

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, y’all!
