Herbie Mensah is a Portobello Market staple. A vintage dealer, a designer – but only by accident, as he says.

Herbie’s passion runs from the pre-loved to the completely reimagined. Goal nets, tea towels, furniture swatches, even old money bags – if it can be stitched, Herbie’s used it.

And yes, he’s had his hands on a Barbour (or ten), transforming wax and quilt into something entirely new. Patchworked pockets, linings flipped inside out, stitching that tells a story. It’s not how we’d do it, but in Herbie’s hands, it works.
