Land brings the calm. Water brings the movement. Connecting the two is James Otter, a Porthtowan native who has been handcrafting wooden surfboards since 2010. Each board is shaped by hand and precision in his Cornwall workshop with the hope of reconnecting people to the ocean, and to one another. For James, crafting surfboards is the natural meeting point between his love of the land and his passion for surfing. Every board is made with patience and intension, never rushed, always considered. The result is more than a surfboard; it’s a deeper connection to the water, the landscape that surrounds it, and the simple joy of being outside.
