A book that is a bit more than average but doesn't quite meet a 4 star. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, by V.E. Schwab, also known as What Happens When You Can't Speak Correctly Because of A Sexy Demon So Some Misplaced Words Get Ya Cursed And Boy That Dark-God-Thing Is Sexy.
Good female protagonist. Forgettable side characters though (except, you know, Luc). The billionth book that has decided to glorify New York City. Why can't we have a nice book set in Rhode Island or Arkansas? Haven't read one of those yet. Oh, also the first part has such a slow, boring pace but that second half slaps. I think I used that lingo - "slaps" - correctly. I don't know.
Also we got ourselves a love triangle!! Yippee or boo, depends on who you are.
My Editor is complaining her head hurts because of one scene filmed here. Cry baby.
