The Eight Sleep "Pod 5" is a mattress cover that mainly works to cool or heat your mattress with actual water cooling (or heating). I've had the older Pod 3 version for several years now and it fixed a major issue I had with my sleep, which was that it is extremely hard to get my bedroom temperature down at night cool enough to sleep in.
The Pod 5 works similarly in that respect with the cooling, but now they also have the so-called "Base" that can go along with it, and elevator the head or feet side of the mattress. And this actually solved a major issue I only discovered I had recently, which is some kind of acid reflux waking me up early, and I'd be unable to fall back asleep. I suspected sleeping at an angle would improve it by just letting gravity work in my favor instead of against it, and sure enough by using the base to elevate by around 8 degrees, this issue has been greatly reduced or even eliminated.
Of course in this review I go into way more detail about every other aspect of the mattress, including thermal tests where I timed how long it took to cool down to levels and how different things affect performance. I talk about the setup process, my thoughts, the app, and everything else. It's one of my longest videos and it took me forever to make, but hopefully it's informative.

• Update (6/17): MemoryC reached out with an apology and explanation, and offered several fair options to remedy the situation including a full refund option which Ive decided to go with. They confirmed my hunch that the supplier (the one I mentioned at 7:47) to which they forwarded the board for repair had lost the board, and were upfront about the mistake in not sending an equivalent board and also not at least offering the replacement first, instead of just sending it unsolicited. They said my emails going un-answered was not intentional and that they dont operate that way, and explained it was because an upgrade to their ticketing system was causing my tickets to not show up for some reason. Which I assume is a simplified explanation but I guess Ill choose to take their word for it. Overall Id say they seemed genuinely apologetic. Ill probably make a follow up video soon with more details once everything is fully sorted.
• Update 2 (6/18): I received the full refund today and have shipped back the Z690 Hero motherboard to them, so I consider the issue fully resolved.
