DW News | Israel targets more of Beirut as more troops sent into southern Lebanon | DW News @dwnews | Uploaded October 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
Last year's terror attacks have reignited the conflict between Israel and another Iran-backed militant group: Hezbollah, in Lebanon. The group has now struck the Israeli port of Haifa with missiles for the first time. Israel has responded with airstrikes near the airport in Beirut, which is now operating at severely limited capacity.

The Israeli army said it targeted a southern Beirut suburb described as a Hezbollah stronghold. Large plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from the area. Lebanese security sources said at least two missiles struck a few kilometers from the airport.
