At least 100 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in Lebanon in what has been described as the deadliest day of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah since fighting broke out last October.

Around 400 people were also injured, according to the Lebanese health ministry, who said victims included women, children, and medics.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed it had attacked around 300 Hezbollah targets across Lebanon, focusing primarily on the south. The Iran-backed group hit back with around 35 rockets.
