Aquarimax Pets | ISOPODS that mimic VENOMOUS spiders and POISONOUS millipedes! @Aquarimax | Uploaded March 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
Some isopods are thought to be Batesian mimics of millipedes with defensive toxins and of a venomous relative of the black widow!
These isopods (the mimics) are not harmful themselves, but have an appearance that causes predators to confuse the isopods with their models (pill millioedes or spiders).

Batesian mimicry is a fascinating adaptation, and it provides the side benefit of beautiful, colorful pet isopods!
