My one and only pet tarantula, a Dolicothele diamantinensis, molted out male! My friend Alex @TarantulaHaven had a great plan to solve this problem, which has worked out for both of us. He breeds D. diamantinensis, so he shipped me a sexed female tarantula, and I shipped him my male. He has since reported that the male has had a successful pairing, with another pairing planned!
I chose to keep Dolicothele diamantinensis, the Brazilian Blue Dwarf Beauty, as a pet tarantula due to Alex's suggestion. They stay small for a tarantula, have beautiful blue colors, and are one of the few New World tarantula species that do not kick urticating hairs.
