A video taken in April 2012 during one of the many photo charters to the Isle of Man organised by David Williams in collaboration with Timeline Events. Locomotives seen in action on the charter are 2-4-0T numbers 4 ‘Loch’, 8 ‘Fenella’ and 13 ‘Kissack’. Also seen on service trains running at the time are numbers 10 ‘G.H. Wood’ and 12 ‘Hutchinson’.
Footage was taken at many locations along the line from Douglas to Port Erin and includes the cliff top section overlooking the sea at Keristal. Scenes climbing up the steep bank out of Douglas also feature.
One aim of the charter was to recreate those rare occasions when long holiday trains were double-headed. In this film locomotives numbers 4 and 13 and also numbers 4 and 8 are seen in double-headed action. ’Fenella’ is also filmed on a mixed train with a lot of shunting activities taking place at Castletown.
