Is your baby ready to drop from 3 naps to 2? 💤
Most babies make this transition between 6–9 months, but age isn't the only thing that matters. Watch your baby's cues!
Signs they may be ready:
✨ They're consistently skipping or refusing the 3rd nap.
✨ Bedtime is becoming a battle because they're not tired enough.
✨ They're taking longer naps during the day.
✨ Nighttime sleep is becoming more consolidated.
A sample 2-nap schedule might look like this:
☀️ 7:00 AM – Wake
😴 9:30–11:00 AM – Nap 1
😴 2:00–3:30 PM – Nap 2
🌙 7:00 PM – Bedtime
Remember, every baby is different! Some transition closer to 6 months, while others need that third catnap until 8 or even 9 months. The goal is a schedule that supports restful naps and a smooth bedtime, not rushing the transition.
If your baby is stuck between 3 and 2 naps, consistency and appropriate wake windows make all the difference.
